A number of important innovations of the new draft Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan were presented as part of the constitutional reform planned for 2026. The draft Constitution clearly establishes the secular nature of the state and clearly separates religion from the state.

In addition, it is intended to establish the secular nature of education and upbringing, and this direction is aimed at creating a system based on modern and neutral values in the upbringing of the younger generation. Among the new norms, marriage is defined as a voluntary and equal union of a man and a woman, and the protection of the family institution and traditional values is ensured at the highest legal level.

These changes are aimed at strengthening the rule of law, ensuring social stability, and protecting the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens.
