Residents of the Abay region can keep their license plate when changing vehicles. License plate retention services are available at specialized public service centers in the region and are in steady demand, according to the Abay branch of the State Corporation "Government for Citizens."

When deregistering a vehicle, license plates must be surrendered to the designated public service center. However, the owner has the right to retain the combination; to do so, they must notify the operator of the designated public service center in advance.

Registration plates can be stored for up to one month. After this period, the plate is subject to disposal, but it can be restored by submitting an application and paying a state fee.

Currently, the specialized public service center in Semey stores over 4,500 license plates. A significant portion of these are popular premium license plate combinations.

Residents of the region can use this service at a specialized public service center located at 249 Karzhaubayuly Street. The center is open for visitors: Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
