An extraordinary meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Prevention of Crimes was held under the chairmanship of the Mayor of Shymkent, Gabit Syzdykbekov. The meeting was attended by heads of law enforcement and special agencies, deputies of the Maslikhat, members of the Public Council, and representatives of the mass media.

During the meeting, the participants considered the current crime situation in the city, the effectiveness of preventive measures being taken, as well as issues of interdepartmental interaction in ensuring public safety. The Acting Head of the Shymkent City Police Department Arman Beisenbayev, the Head of the City Department of the Committee for Legal Statistics and Special Accounting Orken Seitov, and the Deputy City Prosecutor Rashid Amirov made reports on the issues on the agenda.

During the meeting, the city akim noted that crime prevention should remain one of the main priorities of state bodies. He also emphasized the need to strengthen preventive measures at the local level, identify threats at an early stage, and implement an integrated approach in connection with the entry into force of the new Law "On Crime Prevention".

"The main emphasis should be placed on early detection of offenses. Prevention is a common task not only of law enforcement agencies, but also of the entire state apparatus. This work must be carried out systematically and consistently," said Gabit Syzdykbekov.

The head of the megacity also noted the need to pay special attention to the prevention of serious offenses, including suicides among minors.

"Unfortunately, such tragic situations occur in Shymkent, and this cannot be denied. Their prevention is the responsibility not only of law enforcement agencies, but of the entire society. At home - parents, at school - teachers, on the street - every citizen is responsible. Therefore, large-scale information and explanatory work should be carried out in all areas. Strengthening prevention is of great importance," the city mayor noted.

The city akim assigned a number of specific tasks to those responsible. He instructed law enforcement agencies and district akims to create a system for each other and work together and in harmony.
