Kazakhstan and Kenya intend to deepen bilateral economic cooperation

Nairobi, 4 February 2026 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Kenya Barlybay Sadykov held a meeting with the Deputy Director General of Economic Affairs and Commercial Diplomacy Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of Kenya Mr. Evans Maturu, during which the parties discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda, plans for developing cooperation in the trade, economic, and financial spheres, upcoming bilateral visits at various levels, and the formation of a bilateral legal framework.
During the meeting, the Kazakhstani diplomat informed his counterpart about the announced large-scale constitutional changes in Kazakhstan, aimed at further improving the effectiveness of public administration and building a “Fair Kazakhstan”, which will be submitted to a national referendum.
In addition, the parties exchanged views on current issues on the international agenda, reaffirming their commitment to close cooperation within multilateral structures.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to strengthen cooperation across the entire spectrum of bilateral interaction, including in the areas of financial technology development, transit and transport routes, including the use of Kenyan ports, agriculture, and tourism.
The parties agreed to continue cooperation on issues of mutual interest, including within the framework of the established Kazakh-Kenyan working group on trade and investment.
