An open dialogue platform to discuss the draft New Constitution was held in Shymkent. The meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor of the city Sarsen Kuranbek, members of the city's veterans' council, public figures, labor veterans, and representatives of the intelligentsia.
The meeting was opened by Kenzhekhan Tolebayev, the chairman of the city's veterans' council, who emphasized the importance of the draft New Constitution. According to him, in such a historic period that directly affects the fate of the country, every citizen should think seriously and put social stability and unity above all else.
β During the discussion of the draft Constitution, it is better to express opinions calmly, without giving in to emotions. The document clearly shows that priority is given to protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens. The most important thing is that every citizen is given the opportunity to express his opinion openly. This is evidence that we are forming the Constitution together with the people, - said Kenzhekhan Tolebayev.
Speaking at the meeting, Bauyrzhan Alteyev, chairman of the city's trade union council, noted that the new document clearly reflects the interests of workers. In his opinion, the norms aimed at social justice, protection of workers' rights, and ensuring safe working conditions have been strengthened.
State and public figure Abdulla Akhmetov broadly described the importance of the Constitution, evaluating it not only as a legal document, but also as the ideological foundation of the nation.
"The Constitution is not just a set of laws, it is a system of values that determines the direction of the country's development. Therefore, principles such as unity, justice, and responsibility should be clearly reflected in it," he said.
In addition, members of the Veterans Council, such as Kanzhigit Syzdykov, Aldanazar Kurbanbayev, and Dosybay Sherimkulov, also spoke at the meeting and shared their opinions and suggestions regarding the new changes in the draft New Constitution.
The general view of all participants is that the draft Constitution aims to strengthen the protection of citizens' rights and balance responsibilities between the state and society. It also lays the foundation for the formation of a governance system that listens to the voice of the people, while maintaining a balance between the branches of power.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Mayor Sarsen Kuranbek said that all the suggestions made would be taken into account.
"Every opinion and proposal raised today will be forwarded to a special commission. This is a document common to all. Therefore, it is important for every citizen to participate in its discussion," he said.
According to the participants, such open meetings increase trust in society and strengthen the relationship between the people and the authorities. After all, the Constitution is an important document that affects the fate of not only lawyers, but also the entire country. Updating the Constitution is the need of the hour, and its content and viability is the common responsibility of every citizen. This meeting in Shymkent was a clear proof of this.
