The meeting discussed the appeals and suggestions received from residents to solve the current problematic situation with neglected animals in the city.

During the meeting, the need for a comprehensive solution to the problem of neglected animals in accordance with the legislation was noted.

As a result, the working group sent the following recommendations to government agencies:

strengthen control over the fulfillment of contractual obligations in the framework of public procurement of trapping, sterilization, identification and temporary maintenance of neglected animals;
conduct raids on the private sector of the city to check the maintenance of pets in accordance with legal requirements;
conduct an information campaign on the need for responsible pet care;
prepare an additional budget application for trapping, keeping, identification and sterilization of neglected animals.

Proposals on amendments to laws and regulations related to responsible pet care were also sent to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Working Group will continue its activities, combining the efforts of government agencies, deputies and public organizations.
