Brasilia, February 10, 2026 - Co-chaired by Ambassador Bolat Nussupov and former Senator of the National Congress Ulisses Riedel, the Embassy of Kazakhstan hosted the regular annual meeting of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Friendship Forum in a hybrid format and a briefing for the media.

The meeting focused on key aspects of constitutional reform in Kazakhstan, the agenda of the upcoming Regional Environmental Summit, and the results of the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, held in Astana in September this year. The participants also discussed current issues of Kazakh-Brazilian cooperation and identified main areas for cooperation in 2026.

On the Brazilian side, welcoming speeches were made by the President and Vice-President of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Friendship Forum, Ulisses Riedel and Cassiano Pereira Viana, the Executive Director of the Forum, Professor Edelcio Americo, and the Brazilian Association of Journalists and Communicators in the International and Diplomatic Field (ABRAJINTER) Fabiana Seihan.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan briefed the guests on the progress of reforms being carried out by the country's leadership, including the draft of the new Constitution, commenting on the key points of the basic law. The main directions and plans for the development of Kazakh-Brazilian bilateral relations in 2026 were presented separately.

Thematic reports were presented by Oswaldo Conde (Brazil), a member of the Theosophical Society and writer, and Imam Marwan Gill (Argentina), President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Argentina, Commissioner of the Organization of American States (OAS) on Freedom of Religion, Imam Marwan Gill (Argentina), who took part in the work of the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions from South American countries.

At the end of the meeting, the Brazilian participants in the forum expressed their gratitude for the organization of the event and confirmed their interest in further strengthening friendly and partnership relations between Kazakhstan and Brazil.
