In the city of Shymkent, road transport workers – from bus drivers to directors and dispatchers of transport companies – participated in an open public meeting to discuss the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the amendments to the Constitution were comprehensively considered, and the participants exchanged views. Darkhan Kayupov, Chairman of the Yuzhavtotrans Association, noted that the main goal of the reforms is to strengthen the state's orientation towards the people. According to him, the new Constitution is aimed at defining values and principles in line with the needs of society and increasing the efficiency of political institutions. "The new Constitution gives top priority to human rights and freedoms," he said.
Al-Farabi Mynbay, a representative of the "Auyl" party in Shymkent, noted that in the new edition of the Preamble, human rights and freedoms are for the first time defined as the main priority of the state. At the same time, fundamental values such as sovereignty, independence, unitary structure and territorial integrity remain unchanged. It was noted that the consolidation of the principles of justice, law and order, and respect for nature at the constitutional level is one of the important features of the new document.
The strategic priorities of the new Basic Law were also discussed during the meeting. The speakers noted that the development of education, science, culture and innovation is the foundation of the future of the state. According to Darkhan Kayupov, this is an important step that will shift the direction of the country's development from natural resources to human capital.
Special attention was also paid to the issue of digitalization. The introduction of a norm in the new Constitution to protect citizens' rights in the digital environment was assessed as a concrete response to modern requirements.
Following the meeting, the participants expressed their support for the new draft Constitution, noting that it is an important document aimed at the sustainable development of the country and strengthening the rights and freedoms of citizens.
