A city coalition, "For the People's Constitution of a Just and Progressive Kazakhstan!", has been established in Shymkent. The coalition's main goal is to widely and clearly communicate the changes proposed for the upcoming national referendum to residents, establish open dialogue in society, and create conditions for informed citizen participation in the political campaign.
The founding assembly was attended by representatives of political parties, maslikhat deputies, intellectuals, public activists, and young people. During the meeting, issues of societal unity and responsibility during this crucial period for the country, as well as the importance of public harmony and civic engagement, were widely discussed.
Speaking at the meeting, Murat Zholdykhozhaev highlighted the significance and importance of the referendum, noting that this campaign is a historic decision for the country's development:
"Today's referendum is more than just a political campaign. It's an important step, strengthening mutual trust between the state and society and giving every citizen the opportunity to directly participate in the country's destiny. Building a just and progressive Kazakhstan, taking into account the opinions of the people, is our shared goal. Therefore, the participation and responsibility of every citizen are of particular importance," he emphasized.
Following the meeting, Murat Zholdykhozhaev was appointed head of the Shymkent city coalition. The coalition includes representatives of various political parties, party supporters, public figures, intellectuals, and youth activists. During the campaign, coalition members plan to hold meetings, discussions, and outreach events online and offline according to the approved schedule.
It should be noted that earlier in Astana, with the participation of Yerlan Koshanov, Chairman of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chairman of the Party, leading socio-political forces of the country united to form the National Coalition "For the People's Constitution of a Just and Progressive Kazakhstan!" It included five leading political parties—AMANAT, Auyl, Ak Zhol, Respublica, and the People's Party of Kazakhstan—as well as more than 300 public organizations representing the interests of millions of citizens.
All political forces unanimously expressed support for the draft new version of the Constitution. The proposed amendments cover all sections of the Constitution and concern 77 articles, accounting for 84% of the entire text. The new version includes 11 sections and 96 articles.
The city coalition's upcoming work will be aimed at consolidating society, taking into account the opinions of every citizen, and actively participating in making important decisions about the country's future.
