A ceremonial reception of the Kazakhstani teams who achieved victory at the international UAE SWAT Challenge tournament held in Dubai took place at the capital’s airport. As the aircraft landed at Astana International Airport, the winners and prizewinners were warmly welcomed by colleagues and supporters.

This year, Kazakhstan was represented by five teams formed from the best fighters of the country’s law-enforcement agencies. As a result of the competition, Kazakhstani special units demonstrated outstanding performance on the global stage.

In particular, in the overall standings, Kaz SWAT Team C claimed 1st place (gold), while Kaz SWAT Team A secured 2nd place (silver). The top three was completed by a team from China. Among the prizewinners were servicemen of the “Burkit” special unit of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In addition, on the instructions of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs — Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Major General Ansagan Baltabekov, was present in Dubai, where he provided support to the servicemen and shared his experience and guidance.

— The competition was held at a very high level. As this was a tournament of global scale, all teams were strong. Therefore, we also prepared to the maximum and moved purposefully toward victory. On the first day of the competition, I twisted my ankle and sustained an injury. However, despite this, I continued competing and today I am returning home with my teammates as a winner, — said a special unit operator who became a prizewinner.

Thus, the Kazakhstani special forces personnel demonstrated a high level of professional training and true mastery.
