Speaking during the Referendum-2026 online marathon, Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Constitutional Commission Aidos Sarym explained the essence of the changes in the new draft Constitution. In his opinion, Kazakhstan has entered a new era.
"We have ended the oil era in Kazakhstan. Oil may continue to be found, but with the advent of a new digital era, we now need an economy based not on oil energy, but on human energy. The share of small and medium-sized businesses in our country has now reached 40%. This is a great achievement. But we need to increase it even more," said Aidos Sarym.
He also highlighted one of the key changes in the draft Constitution.
"In one article, it used to be said: 'The source of power is the people.' Now we say: 'The source and bulwark of sovereignty is the people,'" said Aidos Sarym.
The Majilis deputy also said that the future of Kazakhstan lies in education, science, and innovation.
"Kazakhstan has taken an important step by adopting the Law on Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Code. We have achieved a lot. Now it is necessary to enshrine these initiatives at the Constitutional level. This is a truly revolutionary innovation," he said.
