At the "Referendum-2026" online marathon, Deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Member of the Constitutional Commission, Aidarbek Kozhanazarov spoke about the opinions and proposals received from the public on the protection of digital personal data, protection of private property, and transparency.
"The most important thing is that we have been discussing an issue for a long time, which is digital security, digital data protection, and the protection of citizens' rights not only offline, but also online. We also included it in the Digital Code in the Majilis. But it was very important to enshrine it in our Constitution. We have witnessed how many of our citizens' data have been leaked online, and fraudsters have used it to steal our citizens' money. To prevent this, to cope with this, it was necessary to protect digital data, it was very important to strengthen it and bring it to the right level," said A. Kozhanazarov.
The Majilis deputy touched upon other important issues.
"Several citizens have approached me with this issue, which is to protect a private home, a person's shelter, to assert that no one has the right to evict him from his home without a court decision. This is a very important article. Various situations are happening now. Such a decision was made to prevent this from happening. Another issue that was considered during the discussion of our Constitution is openness and consultation with the people. Which country in the 21st century, when writing the Constitution, consulted with the entire population, collected their opinions and broadcast it live? I think Kazakhstan is in first place in terms of openness," said A. Kozhanazarov.
