Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Constitutional Commission, Bakhyt Nurmukhanov, explained the significance of the new Constitutional draft.
"The Preamble for the first time mentions the thousands-year-old historical continuity of Kazakhstan. In general, any Preamble is perceived as a basis for defining the character and spirit of the nation. This provision shows that our history is deep, thousands of years old. Therefore, we should be proud of it," said B. Nurmukhanov at the Referendum-2026 online marathon.
He also noted that the idea of a Just Kazakhstan was included in the Constitution.
"Just at the end of last year, the main principles and principles of domestic policy were approved by the Decree of the Head of State. It established the idea of a Just Kazakhstan as a country of broad opportunities. Regardless of age, nationality, or status, equal opportunities are created in our country. People are equal before the law and before the court. Looking ahead, the values of culture and education, science and innovation will remain the main directions of the further development of our country," said the Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court.
