Citizens facing difficult life circumstances can now apply for social assistance through the eGov Mobile mobile application. Previously, this service was available only on the eGov.kz portal — now applications can be submitted directly from a smartphone.

Social assistance is a monetary payment or material support provided by local executive bodies to certain categories of citizens who are experiencing difficult life situations. Moving the service to a mobile format makes access to such support simpler and more convenient. Applications can be submitted anytime and from anywhere, and the process takes only a few minutes.

Social assistance based on decisions of local maslikhats is provided to citizens in need of additional support, including people with socially significant illnesses, elderly citizens unable to care for themselves, individuals without parental care, and low-income families.

To use the service, users need to:
• log in to the eGov Mobile app and go to the “eGov Services” – “Special Services” section;
• select the service “Assignment of Social Assistance to Certain Categories of Needy Citizens Based on Decisions of Local Representative Bodies” and fill in all the required information;
• sign the application using one of the available signing methods;
• check the notification regarding the application processing in the “Service History” section.

The result of the service is either a notification on the approval of social assistance or a reasoned refusal.

After submitting the application, the request is reviewed by the authorized body. The decision is made taking into account the family income level and other established criteria. The application review period is up to 8 working days. The service is provided free of charge.
