During the "Referendum-2026" online marathon, Azat Peruashev, deputy of the Majilis, head of the Ak Zhol party faction, Indira Aubakirova, director of the Institute of Legislation and Legal Information of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and political scientist Burikhan Nurmukhamedov shared their opinions.
"Anything done in our state should be evaluated by the criterion of "whether it is in the interests of the person or not?" This means that, whether it is the authorities or civil society institutions, the decision should always be evaluated from the perspective of whether it harms the life of a person. The person, his rights and freedoms should be at the heart of our entire life in Kazakhstan," said Indira Aubakirova.
In turn, Azat Peruashev drew attention to a number of important innovations in the new Constitution. In particular, the ban on eviction from housing without a court decision, as well as the right of a citizen to demand compensation for damage caused by the actions of state bodies or officials.
"For the first time, the concept of advocacy was introduced in the Constitution. In fact, this document is aimed at the individual. It strengthens the rights of citizens in their relations with state bodies, including dishonest officials," said Azat Peruashev.
At the same time, the Majilis emphasized that much depends on the citizens themselves, and how prepared they are to protect their constitutional rights is important.
Political scientist Burikhan Nurmukhamedov also expressed confidence that citizens and political parties will most effectively use the rights and freedoms granted in the Constitution to protect and promote their interests and develop the country.
