The youth of the capital took part in a live concert in support of the Constitutional reform. The event brought together more than 10 thousand people and became one of the first large public platforms within the framework of the work of the National Coalition "For a Just and Progressive People's Constitution of Kazakhstan!" During the concert, an appeal was made to Kazakhstanis to participate in the upcoming referendum and express their position on the draft New Constitution.
As Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted, the constitutional changes are a continuation of the country's systematic political modernization. According to him, the main goal of the reforms is to strengthen the principles of justice and the rule of law, strengthen the role of representative institutions, and form a more balanced model of interaction between the branches of power. The President also noted that it is important to openly discuss the essence of the proposed changes and widely inform the population.
The event took place in the format of a public cultural event, which brought together residents and guests of the capital. Famous Kazakhstani performers - Raim, Dastan Orazbekov, Bayansulu, Nazzarbeck, Aktoty Bolshova and other artists - performed on stage. The concert program continued with speeches by members of the National Coalition on the topic. Zharkynbek Amantay, Maksat Tolyukbay, Aikerim Yesenali, Akerke Iskanderova conducted explanatory work on the main directions of the draft New Constitution and informed citizens about the upcoming referendum. They also noted the importance of making an informed choice and active citizenship.
In his speech, Zharkynbek Amantay noted that the constitutional changes mark a new stage in the country's political development and the historical potential of modernization being realized through today's reforms.
"Our Constitution was developed in accordance with the requirements of the times and taking into account new challenges. This will allow the development of our country and protect its interests. Every Kazakhstani should express their civic position by participating in the referendum and contribute to the development of a fair, open and modern state," he said.
Maksat Tolkubay noted that the draft new Constitution defines modern priorities for the country's development and strengthens guarantees of sovereignty and the protection of citizens' rights.
"The document defines education, science, and innovation as the main strategic direction and core value of the state. While the current Constitution states that the people are the source of state power, the new document affirms that they are the sole source of state power and the owner of sovereignty," said Maksat Tolykbay.
According to Akerke Iskanderova, the draft New Constitution will expand the scope of citizen participation and create conditions for the active involvement of young people in public processes.
"The ultimate goal of the proposed changes is to strengthen and protect our independence and entrust a strong state to the new generation. The upcoming referendum is not just a vote, it is a contribution by each of us to the fate of the country, an opportunity to say, 'My opinion matters.' The future is in our hands," he said.
At the same time, Aikerim Yesenali noted the need to modernize the country's legal framework in accordance with modern requirements.
"The development of our country must have new principles and modern legislative solutions. We need a new Constitution so that the future of our children and youth is bright and secure," said Aikerim Yesenali.
According to the organizers, the event brought together more than 10,000 people and became one of the first large-scale public platforms within the framework of the National Awareness Campaign. It should be recalled that earlier it was announced that a coalition was formed, uniting representatives of leading political parties and public organizations.
