On February of this year, an excursion to the district library was held for convicts registered with the Probation Service No. 1 of the Bayterek district. The event was organized to introduce the convicts to the library, its rules and the wealth of the book collection.
At the beginning of the tour, chief librarian D.O. Kuzhumova briefly explained how the library is organized, how to handle books correctly and where to look for them. The convicts looked at the bookshelves with interest, got acquainted with the thematic sections.Special attention was paid to the shelves with the works of Abai Kunanbayev, where the convicts were offered to choose their favorite books to read. They also learned how to find the right book, got acquainted with the Rules of the library, the rules of handling the book. The convicts looked at magazines and books with great interest. The convicts took an active part in a literary quiz on the works. The convicts really enjoyed the educational and interesting things, and they promised to come to the library to get their books. An excursion to the library not only broadened the horizons of the convicts, but also aroused interest in reading. Such events help convicts realize the value of books as a source of knowledge and inspiration.
