On March 2, 2026, the UN ESCAP delegation conducted a field visit in Almaty as part of the third meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Digital Solutions Centre for Sustainable Development. During the visit, participants were introduced to the UN Plaza complex and its potential as a regional hub for exchanging practical digital solutions across the Asia-Pacific region

Ambassador-at-Large and Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Zhanibek Abdrashov, highlighted Kazakhstan’s commitment to advancing the digital agenda and fostering international cooperation under the UN framework. He also underscored the importance of Kazakhstan’s initiative to establish the Digital Solutions Centre as a platform for enhancing regional collaboration and sharing best practices.
