The Akim of the Kostanay region, Kumar Aksakalov, familiarized himself with the operation of a rehabilitation center with 60 places, intended for children with disabilities.

This complex was opened last year in accordance with the instruction of the Head of State.

The Public Foundation "Kazakhstan Khalqyna" allocated 1 billion tenge for equipping the center with modern rehabilitation equipment.

The rehabilitation center provides a full range of special social services aimed at improving children's health and their social adaptation.

"Previously, in the regional center, the only rehabilitation institution with 20 beds could provide a rehabilitation course to about 400 children annually. Now, rehabilitation assistance covers at least 900 children aged from one and a half to 18 years," noted Kumar Aksakalov.

The head of the region also reported that another project is being implemented. It concerns an agreement for the construction of a sports and recreation complex for people with disabilities in Kostanay with the support of the "Kazakhstan Khalqyna" foundation. Construction of the facility will begin this year.
