International Women’s Day Celebrated in the National Guard

Today, about 1,500 women serve in the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Among them, more than 240 work in financial support, around 50 serve in communications, 80 are involved in guarding important state facilities, 50 serve in aviation, and 53 monitor the moral and psychological condition of servicemen of all categories.

Alongside men, they carry out challenging service duties to ensure the public security of the country, sharing both the responsibilities and achievements of this traditionally male profession. More than 200 of them hold officer positions.

On the eve of International Women’s Day, a ceremonial event dedicated to March 8 was held at the capital’s Military Brigade 5573 of the National Guard.

Traditionally on this day, female servicemen, veterans, and representatives of cooperating agencies were honored with awards and commemorative gifts on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Deputy Minister — Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard. For their conscientious fulfillment of official duties and high service performance, they were presented with badges, certificates of honor, and letters of appreciation.

Earlier, at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, several servicemen were awarded state decorations presented on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Thus, the medal “Zhauyngerlik Erligi Ushin” (For Military Valor) for exemplary fulfillment of military duty was awarded to Sergeant Asem Sergazina, a controller specialist of the controller platoon of Military Unit 6699.

Junior Sergeant Gaini Zhumashova, senior specialist and concertmaster of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Guard, was awarded the honorary title “Honored Worker of Kazakhstan”.

Meanwhile, Junior Sergeant Natalia Kuznetsova, senior specialist and concertmaster of the Exemplary Orchestra of the National Guard, received the state award “For Distinguished Labor.”

During the ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs — Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard expressed words of gratitude and respect to all female colleagues who have devoted themselves to serving in the ranks of the law-enforcement troops.

“Women of the National Guard perform their duties with dignity, making a significant contribution to ensuring the country’s security. Every day you demonstrate high professionalism, responsibility, and loyalty to the Oath. Your conscientious work consistently deserves the highest recognition. I wish you strong health, well-being to your families, and further success in your service,” noted Major General Ansagan Baltabekov.

It should be noted that female servicemen perform duties in guard units and communications centers, and are also involved in military medical, logistical, and financial support of the troops. In addition, they actively participate in women’s councils, where issues of social support for personnel and assistance to young military families are discussed.
