Ambassador Beibut Atamkulov met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov

On March 18, 2026, a meeting was held between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Beibut Atamkulov, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bobur Usmanov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed preparations for the upcoming official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Kosherbayev, to the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as for the Regional Environmental Summit to be held in Astana, and other topical issues of Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan cooperation.

The sides emphasized the importance of the Regional Environmental Summit for strengthening regional cooperation in addressing environmental and climate change issues, noting its significance in shaping a unified regional agenda and implementing concrete projects.

Special attention was paid to the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to establish an International Water Organization under the auspices of the United Nations.

Ambassador Atamkulov provided the Uzbek side with detailed information on the advantages of the proposed organization in enhancing interstate coordination in the field of water resources.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their mutual readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the spirit of alliance and strategic partnership.
