On January 16, 2026, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Restoration of Citizens' Solvency and Bankruptcy" was amended. The changes will take effect on March 19, 2026.

According to the amendments, for citizens whose total debt does not exceed 1,600 MCI (6,920,000 tenge) and whose default period exceeds 5 years, the out-of-court bankruptcy procedure is carried out within 1 month. Previously, this procedure took 6 months.

👩‍💻These changes are aimed at optimizing the out-of-court bankruptcy procedure and ensure a more prompt and effective response of government agencies to public inquiries.
