Regional seminar for history teachers on the topic "An honest citizen is the pillar of an independent state. Value-based learning in history lessons"

On April 17, 2026, a regional seminar for history teachers on the topic "An Honest Citizen is the Pillar of an Independent State. Value-Oriented Learning in History Lessons" was held at the KGU "Sauyr Secondary School" of the Education Department for the Zaysan District of the East Kazakhstan Region Education Administration.

History teachers from secondary schools in the districts of the East Kazakhstan Region and responsible methodologists participated in the seminar.

Goal: to improve value-oriented learning in history lessons based on the principle "An Honest Citizen is the Pillar of an Independent State," to develop effective methods for fostering patriotism, honesty, responsibility, and other universal human values in students through the exchange of experience, as well as to improve the quality of knowledge in the subject of history.

The seminar was opened with a historical performance "My Land is a Chronicle of History" involving students. Through the artistic performance, the students showed that their native land is not just a place of residence, but history, destiny, and spiritual heritage. The seminar participants were conveyed the idea that every part of the Zaysan region has its own unique history.

As part of the practical section:

History teacher from the Kh. Mustafina School-Lyceum, teacher-researcher T. Raisova presented the goals, objectives, and directions of the creative group "Heritage of the Native Land." Student project works on local history were demonstrated, and an overview of the past and present of the Zaysan region was given.

Under the guidance of history teacher from the Zhambyl Basic School, teacher-expert M. Demesinova, a student research work on the topic "Demographics of Zaysan District, Age Characteristics of the Population" was presented.

History teacher from the Kh. Mustafina School-Lyceum, teacher-researcher, head of the district association of history teachers S. Shakenova delivered a report "The Role of the Association in Improving the Professional Skills of Teachers," presenting the association's activities and work experience.

History teacher from the M. Auezov Secondary School, teacher-moderator K. Yermekova conducted an open lesson on world history for the 9th grade on the topic "How to Preserve National Identity in the Context of Globalization." Group, pair, and individual assignments, as well as artificial intelligence platforms, were used during the lesson, which helped increase student interest.

History teacher from the M.V. Lomonosov Secondary School, teacher-moderator A. Baibusinova conducted an open lesson on the history of Kazakhstan for the 8th grade on the topic "Participation of Kazakhstanis in the Battles of the Great Patriotic War." Effective teaching methods, as well as artificial intelligence technologies, were applied.

History teacher from the M. Daulenov Boarding School, teacher-expert G. Bakhytkhan presented a workbook for the 10th grade on the history of Kazakhstan, and teacher from the Saryterek Secondary School, master teacher M. Meirbaev presented an original work "Historical Map." Master classes on their practical application were conducted.

History teachers from the Muzhyksu Basic School A. Kairkanova and the Mukarama School-Kindergarten Complex M. Erkebulanov presented the game "Historical Quiz," demonstrating its effectiveness in developing students' thinking, cognitive interest, and motivation.

Teachers from the Yu. Gagarin Secondary School K. Ydyryshova and the M.V. Lomonosov Secondary School A. Muratkhanova presented the work "Museum - National Memory" on the topic "Popularizing Museum Values Through Students' Research Activities."

As part of the 115th anniversary of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, a pedagogical case "National Hero B. Momyshuly: Military History and the Continuity of Historical Memory" was presented. His contribution to military history and significance in shaping patriotic education were considered.

A. Islamova — "A Legacy That Became a Testament: The Spirit of Courage and Patriotism in the Sayings of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly"

During the seminar, there was an active exchange of experience on implementing value-oriented learning aimed at fostering patriotism, honesty, responsibility, and other universal human values in students. Effective methods for improving the quality of knowledge in history were proposed.

Following the seminar, a discussion was held and feedback was organized.
