The State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports that oversight of the e-commerce sector is being strengthened in the country.
According to the Tax Code, owners of online platforms (marketplaces) are required to submit information to the state revenue authorities by the 5th of each month regarding goods sold, services rendered, and payments made to individuals (residents of Kazakhstan).
This requirement is enshrined in the Rules approved by Order No. 614 of the Ministry of Finance dated October 21, 2025.
To date, 23 marketplaces have already submitted the necessary data to the state revenue authorities. This includes information on sellers, goods and services sold, and payments made.
The transfer of such information helps increase the transparency of online commerce, reduce the shadow economy, and ensure that taxes are fully remitted to the budget.
After taxpayers file their tax returns, the state revenue authorities will conduct a desk audit to compare the data from the marketplaces with the tax returns.
If discrepancies are identified, the taxpayer will receive a notice requiring them to rectify the violations.
Thus, the new measures are aimed at creating fair and equal conditions for all participants in e-commerce and increasing trust in the online market.
