On holding a seminar on the prevention of destructive religious movements at the State Property and Privatization Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan

As part of the work plan of the Ethics Commissioner of the State Property and Privatization Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a seminar on the topic: "Prevention of the Spread of Destructive Religious Movements" was held on April 20, 2026, with the participation of the Chief Expert of the Coordination of Information and Explanatory Work Department of the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, M. Kalabayeva, and the Head of the Strategic Analysis Department of the Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Y. Berikbayev.
During the seminar, participants were provided with information on contemporary challenges in the field of religious security, signs of destructive religious movements, as well as measures to prevent them.
During the meeting, the speakers presented a substantive explanatory report aimed at improving the legal and religious literacy of civil servants.
Special attention was paid to countering extremist ideologies, the risks of involvement in destructive religious movements, and building a strong immunity to such threats. Participants were provided with detailed explanations of legislative norms, including the provisions of Article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan concerning incitement of social, national, and religious discord.
Following the meeting, participants received answers to their questions and practical recommendations on preventing involvement in destructive religious organizations.
