Kazakhstan and ITU Strengthen Cooperation on Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence

Astana, 23 April 2026 - In the framework of the visit of ITU Deputy Secretary-General Mr. Tomas Lamanauskas to Astana to participate in the Regional Ecological Summit (RES-2026), as well as in preparation for the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2026 (PP-26), Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Permanent Representative to the WTO and other international organizations in Geneva, Mr. Kairat Torebayev, together with Vice Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Doszhan Musaliyev, held a bilateral meeting.
The parties discussed key areas of cooperation, the advancement of digitalization and artificial intelligence initiatives, as well as Kazakhstan’s engagement within the ITU.
Particular attention was given to the preparations for the elections to the ITU elected bodies for the 2027–2030 term, including Kazakhstan’s candidacy for the ITU Council and support for a candidate to the Radio Regulations Board.
The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation and promoting an inclusive digital agenda.
