During the meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Oman is a reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the Arab world that has stood the test of time, and reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening comprehensive cooperation.

– Our bilateral political and economic ties are steadily developing. I would like to particularly note your contribution to enhancing cooperation between Kazakhstan and Oman. Taking this opportunity, I would also like to convey my greetings and best wishes to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said. We look forward to His Majesty the Sultan’s visit to Astana, – said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan for the warm hospitality and confirmed Oman’s intention to further develop interstate cooperation.

– Kazakhstan is a very beautiful country rich in cultural heritage. It is a great honor for me to convey the greetings of His Majesty the Sultan to you. As you know, relations between our countries date back to 1992. Thus, we were among the first member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council to establish diplomatic relations with Kazakhstan. We are connected by close cooperation across all areas, including culture, trade, economy, and tourism. We hope this cooperation will continue in the future, – said Ziyazin bin Haitham Al Said.

The President of Kazakhstan also reiterated his support for the brotherly people of Oman amid the current escalation in the Middle East.

The Head of State highly appreciated Oman’s international standing and its significant efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. Particular attention was given to collaboration in energy, metallurgy, transport and logistics, agriculture, digitalization, as well as the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.

At the end of the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded Deputy Prime Minister Ziyazin bin Haitham Al Said the Order of “Dostyk” (Friendship), First Class, for his contribution to strengthening cooperation and friendship between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Oman.
