"In celebration of National Book Day on April 23rd, the nationwide campaign '10 Books I Have Read' was announced. The goal of the campaign is to promote a culture of mass reading in society and to encourage every citizen to read books.
To set an example for the younger generation, the Bastaushi village library supported this campaign and decided to highlight one of its regular readers. A native of Bastaushi village, our elder Kulbagi Yerzhanova, remains a devoted reader at 84 years old and has read a vast number of works.
Speaking of the books she has read since the beginning of this year, it is worth noting the twelve-volume collection by Kabdesh Zhumadilov. Additionally, as part of the 'One Country — One Book' campaign, she read his two-volume novel 'Tagdyr' ('Fate'). Kulbagi-apai shared the story's content, emphasizing its educational and moral value for the youth and the importance of honoring one's native land. Such examples are aimed at expanding the historical horizons of readers and increasing respect for the history of their country."
