The first stage of the World Boxing international tournament was held in Foz do Iguazu (Brazil). The two-time world champion from Karaganda in the 65 kg weight class confidently made it to the finals and faced Navbakhor Khamidova from Uzbekistan in the decisive match. Our compatriot had a beautiful fight, she tried very hard to take the advantage into her own hands, but the judges recognized her opponent as the winner. But the silver medal of the World Cup is also a huge victory with such strong competition! Congratulations to Aida Abikeeva and her coaches Yeldos Zhanibekovich Saidalin and Abdraimov Islam Berikovich! It should be noted that Kazakhstani boxers won seven medals at the first stage of the World Cup - three gold, one silver and three bronze. Our national team took the third overall place, losing to Brazil and China.
