On October 28, the first meeting of the Kazakh-Mongolian Business Council was held in Ulaanbaatar as part of the state visit of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Mongolia.
The event brought together key representatives of business and government agencies of both countries to discuss priority areas of joint work.
In his welcoming speech, Minister of Digital Development Jaslan Madiyev highlighted the main vectors of interaction in the field of digitalization, including the creation of an innovative ecosystem, the development of startup projects, the introduction of digital government (GovTech) and projects in the aerospace industry.
Kazakhstan presented its experience in the development of the Astana Hub international Technopark, which over the years has attracted more than 1,500 residents, including 436 foreign companies. The successful experience of creating IT hubs in foreign countries aimed at supporting startups from Central Eurasia in global markets was also presented.
It should be noted, for example, that the Kazakh electric scooter rental startup Jet has already successfully entered the Mongolian market, offering more than 6 thousand scooters to residents of Mongolia. And Mongolian startups are actively involved in the acceleration programs of Astana Hub. For example, the Fibo Group startup has successfully passed the Google for Startups acceleration program in our technopark. Participation in the program gives startups access to international experience and the support of leading experts, which is an important step for their further development and entry into global markets.
A significant element of the cooperation was the discussion of the export of Kazakhstan's eGov e-government system. This project will allow Mongolia to take advantage of Kazakhstan's achievements in digitalizing public services, where more than 90% of services are already provided online.
The first meeting of the Business Council laid a solid foundation for a strategic partnership focused on sustainable development and joint overcoming of modern challenges.
