Budapest, May 7, 2026 – Ahead of Defender of the Fatherland Day, celebrated annually in Kazakhstan on May 7, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hungary organized a football tournament among Kazakhstani students.

Five teams took part in the tournament, delivering exciting and competitive matches. The participants demonstrated a high level of skill and strong team spirit, while the competition was held in an atmosphere of friendship and good sportsmanship.

In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Hungary Abzal Saparbekuly congratulated the participants on Defender of the Fatherland Day and wished them good health, success, and prosperity. The Ambassador also emphasized that organizing sporting events is an important part of efforts aimed at strengthening the unity of Kazakhstani citizens abroad, fostering youth connections, and promoting the principles of a healthy lifestyle.

At the conclusion of the tournament, the “Astana” team emerged victorious and won the Cup of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary, while the best players were presented with commemorative gifts.

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary intends to continue organizing sports, cultural, and community events in cooperation with Kazakhstani students and representatives of the Kazakh diaspora in Hungary.
