Brasília, May 26, 2026 – A meeting was held at the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture between Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Bolat Nussupov and the Ministry’s Secretary for International Cooperation, Augusto Billy.
The main focus of the talks was the practical implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the fields of agriculture and livestock farming, signed on May 11 of this year in Astana between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Supply of Brazil.
The parties discussed the possibility of establishing a joint Working Group between the two countries, which will include representatives from the relevant ministries and agencies of both countries, as well as industry associations and companies in the agricultural and livestock sectors.
The group will conduct direct negotiations on topics of mutual interest. In particular, on issues related to establishing direct shipments of live cattle and beef from Brazil to Kazakhstan, opening joint breeding centers and breeding farms, genetic technology laboratories for breeding specific cattle breeds, organizing feed production (soybeans, rapeseed, corn), expanding cooperation between the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA) and the Kazakh National Agricultural Research and Education Center (NANOC), and others.
To achieve the set goals and implement the Memorandum, the Brazilian side was asked to develop and sign a Roadmap for Cooperation outlining step-by-step actions and joint activities for the period 2026–2027.
