Servicemen of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the nationwide command-and-staff exercise “Ort–2026,” held in the Kostanay Region. The large-scale event was aimed at improving interagency coordination in the prevention and suppression of wildfires.

On the first day of the exercise, the Republican Operational Headquarters was established at the “I-Qostanai” Smart Center in Kostanay with the participation of representatives of the law enforcement troops. The practical phase was conducted in the Amankaragai Forestry Area of Altynsarin District, Kostanay Region.

The exercise, which was carried out in several regions of the country, involved a Mi-171E helicopter of the National Guard, around 20 units of military equipment, and approximately 200 servicemen. Together with representatives of other security agencies, they practiced response procedures for forest fire emergencies.

“Using the helicopter, we demonstrated the detection of fire hotspots, aerial firefighting operations, and the conduct of rapid response measures. Such exercises significantly enhance coordination between security agencies and emergency services during crisis situations,” said National Guard aircraft commander Captain Akyl Tileubergen.

Overall, the exercise brought together forestry units, environmental and law enforcement agencies, firefighting and rescue services, and servicemen of the law enforcement troops. Territorial defense forces and representatives of local executive authorities also participated in the event.
