A modern city is not just about high-quality roads for cars, but also about ensuring safe conditions for all road users. Many residents choose cycling for recreation, sports, and daily commuting, and our task is to create convenient and comfortable conditions for this.

Currently, 7.5 kilometers of cycle paths are operational in the city. In addition, a project for a unified bicycle network with a length of 40 kilometers is being developed. It will connect parks and squares, residential micro-districts, educational and sports facilities, as well as the central and northwestern parts of Kostanay.

During the preparation of the project, the successful experience of the Russian city of Almetyevsk was studied, where a modern and safe cycling infrastructure was implemented within a few years. The best practices will be taken into account in our city as well.

I would like to note that the development of the bicycle network is a contribution not only to road safety, but also to strengthening public health, improving the environmental situation, reducing traffic load, and enhancing the quality of the urban environment.
