Brno, 13 July 2026 - Consular services, inter-university cooperation, employment opportunities, and participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections were the main topics of a meeting between the leadership and staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Czech Republic and Kazakh students studying at higher education institutions in the South Moravian Region.

Addressing the participants, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Czech Republic Kairat Abdrakhmanov noted that Kazakh students pursuing higher education abroad have consistently demonstrated patriotism, strong academic performance and a high level of commitment to their studies. He also expressed his appreciation for their active involvement in charitable initiatives, musical performances and other cultural events held across the Czech Republic.

During the lively discussion, the students explored opportunities to apply in Kazakhstan the knowledge and skills they are acquiring in biotechnology, automotive engineering, project management, regional development, environmental protection, economics and the humanities. They also put forward a number of practical proposals aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships between higher education institutions in Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic, expanding academic mobility programmes and promoting internship opportunities.

A separate part of the discussion focused on the forthcoming elections to the Kurultai and the significance of a unicameral Parliament, as well as on the Halyk Kenesi as an important new platform for public dialogue, bringing together representatives of various social groups and facilitating discussion of key issues concerning the country’s development. The young participants were briefed on the principal directions of Kazakhstan’s socio-political development, the main provisions of the new Constitution, the foreign policy course pursued by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the reforms being implemented at his initiative to strengthen the rule of law, protect citizens’ rights, and enhance the effectiveness of state institutions and civil society structures.

The meeting in Brno once again highlighted the important contribution of students and young people, as well as the broader education and research community, to strengthening humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.
