Cooperation in the Public and Political Sphere Discussed

Brasília, July 27, 2026 – A meeting was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Federative Republic of Brazil between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bolat Nussupov and «Casa Política» Chief Executive Officer, «Monitor da Democracia» Institute  Executive Director, a prominent brazilian political scientist, Márcio Coimbra.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues on the international agenda and exchanged views on the current political, social, and economic developments in their respective countries. Particular attention was given to the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation and establishing contacts between the analytical and research centers of Kazakhstan and Brazil.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan also briefed his counterpart on the comprehensive political reforms underway in Kazakhstan, including the entry into force of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan on July 1, 2026, preparations for the elections to the unicameral Kurultai, and the formation of the Kazakhstan People’s Council.

For his part, the Brazilian political scientist highly praised the reforms being implemented in Kazakhstan, emphasizing their importance for strengthening state institutions and ensuring the country’s sustainable development. He also expressed interest in establishing an expert dialogue between the think tanks of Kazakhstan and Brazil.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to promote closer contacts among the academic, expert, and public policy communities of Kazakhstan and Brazil, as well as to develop concrete proposals for future cooperation.
