Kazakhstan and Algeria Intend to Enhance Financial and Economic Cooperation

Algiers, July 28, 2026 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Algeria, Anuarbek Akhmetov, met with the Minister of Finance of Algeria, Abdelkrim Bouzred. The parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in the financial and economic sphere.

During the meeting, the Kazakh diplomat presented the political and socio-economic reforms being implemented in Kazakhstan by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He also spoke about the entry into force of the new Constitution, as well as the preparations for the upcoming Qurultay (Parliament) elections. The Ambassador also presented Kazakhstan's achievements in the fields of digitalization, the development of the e-government system, and electronic payments.

The Minister of Finance of Algeria highly appreciated the results of the reforms carried out in Kazakhstan and confirmed the Algerian side's interest in expanding financial and economic cooperation with Kazakhstan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing cooperation and agreed to intensify cooperation both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of international financial institutions, including the Islamic Development Bank.
