On 27 April 2025, due to the start of the tourist season in the Mangystau Region and the growing number of visitors to Mount Ayrakty, a drone-based monitoring campaign was carried out to assess the cleanliness of the tourist area, according to the Public Communications Center.

According to Yersin Ibrashev, Head of the Tourism Department of the Mangystau Region, the monitoring identified the amount of litter left by visitors, and the drone footage will be submitted to the relevant authorities.

“The number of visitors to Mount Ayrakty has increased significantly. As a result, the amount of litter has also grown. The area was recently cleaned, and special waste containers were installed. Today, we conducted drone monitoring and recorded individuals who left litter behind. The collected materials will be forwarded to the competent authorities for appropriate action. This monitoring will continue on a regular basis. I encourage all residents and visitors of the region to protect nature and help keep the environment clean,” said Yersin Ibrashev.

It is worth noting that, to preserve the ecological cleanliness of the region, the Mangystau Zhylu, Su utility enterprise has implemented several measures. Specifically, five waste containers were installed at Ayrakty, ten at Akmysh, and five in the Samal recreation area. In addition, cleaning staff are scheduled to be on duty during weekends, when the number of visitors is at its highest.
