A new production shop for the production of laundry soap has started working in the institution of maximum security of the Uis in Abay region. The launch of production is aimed at expanding the possibilities of employment of convicts and their social adaptation.

       Currently, about 700 pieces of laundry soap weighing 200 grams each are produced in the workshop every day. In the near future, it is planned to increase production capacity three times — to 2000 units per day. Currently, the workshop staff is completing a large order for more than 60 thousand items of laundry soap, which will be sent to Pavlodar.

           To date, seven defendants have been employed in the production. As the volume of production expands, it is planned to increase the staff of employees to 15 people.

           The payment of labor for convicts is piecework and directly depends on the amount of work performed. The earned funds will be used to pay off the obligations of the claim imposed by the court, as well as provide material support to families and loved ones.

           - Work makes you feel useful. I can get a profession, earn money, help my family and gradually repay the existing obligations. This motivates you to move forward and start a new life after being released. Here I learned responsibility, understood the value of honest work, and I am sure that the acquired skills will help me find a job after my release and not return to my previous mistakes, — the convict shared.

          - Opening a new workshop on the territory of the institution will provide convicts with paid work. This allows them to fulfill financial obligations, help their families, master work skills and contributes to their correction and successful social adaptation after release. Today, the institution employs four IE and two LLP. There are woodworking, sewing, furniture shops, a beverage shop and a new laundry soap shop, - said Akylbek Aubakirov, inspector of the Department of Labor Organization of convicts.
