Tashkent, August 18, 2026 — The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between Yeraly Tugzhanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan, and Rashad Mamedov, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan.

During the conversation, the heads of the diplomatic missions exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of multilateral cooperation in the Central Asian and South Caucasus region.

The parties emphasized the high level of strategic partnership and alliance linking Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan with the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Ambassadors noted the importance of implementing joint infrastructure, transport and logistics, and energy projects that strengthen the region’s transit potential.

The interlocutors expressed support for continued active cooperation between diplomatic missions in Tashkent, including the holding of joint cultural and expert events.

Yeraly Tugzhanov congratulated his Azerbaijani colleague on the recent start of his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan and wished him success in strengthening fraternal ties. Rashad Mamedov expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and confirmed his readiness for close working cooperation.

The meeting took place in a traditionally friendly, warm, and constructive atmosphere, underscoring the high level of trust between the countries.
