Kazakhstan and “Acwa” Discuss Prospects for Cooperation in the Renewable Energy Sector

Riyadh, August 18, 2026 – During the meeting between Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia Madiyar Menilbekov and Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of “Acwa” company Raad Al-Saady the parties exchanged views on promising areas of cooperation in the renewable energy sector.
The Kazakh side expressed interest in expanding engagement with “Acwa”, including by leveraging the company’s international experience for the implementation of prospective energy projects in Kazakhstan.
In turn, Raad Al-Saady noted significant potential for further cooperation and expressed readiness to consider the company’s possible participation in prospective projects in Kazakhstan.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue and further explore promising areas of cooperation.
“Acwa” (until January 2026 – “ACWA Power”) is one of the largest energy companies in Saudi Arabia, founded in 2004. The company specializes in the construction and operation of power plants and desalination facilities, has extensive international experience, and focuses on the development of renewable energy.
