15 August 2026. An event dedicated to the upcoming elections to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Moldova. The event was attended by representatives of the Kazakhstani diaspora and students enrolled at higher education institutions in Moldova.

The participants were informed about the main aspects of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which entered into force on  July 1^st, 2026 and opened a new stage in the country’s political and social development. The key provisions of the constitutional reform aimed at improving the system of public administration, strengthening representative institutions and the rule of law, as well as ensuring the effective protection of citizens’ rights and freedoms, were explained. The role of the envisaged changes in the further development of the state was highlighted.

Considering the young age of most of those present, particular emphasis was placed on their involvement in public, cultural, and volunteer activities. In this context, information was presented on initiatives marking International Youth Day and the Year of Volunteers.

The International Day against Nuclear Tests and the 35th anniversary of the closure of the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site featured prominently on the agenda, as events of considerable historical significance for Kazakhstan and the international community. The students were invited to join projects aimed at preserving national cultural heritage, promoting volunteerism, and advancing the ideals of peace, nuclear disarmament, and the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.

The event featured a substantive exchange of views, during which the participants presented their proposals and received comprehensive answers to their questions.

In conclusion, representatives of the diaspora and students were encouraged to take an active part in the elections to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which will be held on  August 23^rd, 2026.
