Kazakhstan has a multi-level system of social support for people with disabilities. It includes State social benefits, payments from the State Social Insurance Fund, as well as insurance payments in cases where disability has occurred as a result of a work injury or occupational disease.

Today, more than 544 thousand people receive state social benefits for disability. The key type of monetary support is the state social benefit, the amount of which depends on the established disability group and cause.

In 2026, in case of disability due to a general illness, the amount of the benefit is 111,873 tenge for persons with disabilities of group I, 89,498 tenge for group II and 61,022 tenge for group III.

If social contributions were paid for a citizen to the State Social Insurance Fund, he may additionally receive a social payment in case of disability. Its amount is determined individually, taking into account the income from which social contributions were made, the degree of general disability and the duration of participation in the compulsory social insurance system.

Insurance benefits are provided for employees whose disability has occurred as a result of a work-related accident or an occupational disease. Thus, depending on the life situation, government and insurance support can complement each other.

Separate measures are provided for citizens who take care of a person with a group I disability, as well as for a mother, father, adoptive parent, guardian or trustee raising a child with a disability. The amount of the corresponding monthly state allowance in 2026 is 81,871 tenge.

Disability payments can be made through the Government for Citizens State Corporation, eGov portal.kz or in a proactive format. After the disability is established, an SMS message is sent to the citizen with a proposal to apply for benefits. To assign it, it is enough to confirm the consent with a reply message.

The system receives most of the necessary information from government information systems. This allows you to reduce the number of requested documents and in some cases assign a payment without a personal request from a citizen.
