In Kostanay, the Police Department in partnership with the Education Department has officially launched the "Mentorship Institute" pilot project. The initiative aims to prevent juvenile delinquency and foster law-abiding behavior among teenagers.

The first phase covers 20 educational institutions (10 schools and 10 colleges) across the cities of Kostanay, Rudny, Lisakovsk, and Arkalyk, as well as the Kostanay and Zhitikara districts.

Veterans of the internal affairs bodies have been brought in to serve as mentors. They work directly with students, placing special focus on at-risk youth, tackling bullying, resolving conflicts, and preventing offenses.

Mentors act as a vital bridge connecting the teenager, family, educators, and law enforcement agencies. This approach ensures early detection of emerging issues, preventing adolescents from becoming involved in illegal activities.

The primary goal of the project is to provide timely support to a child before a problem escalates into a crime.
