The responsible season has begun when the hard work of farmers, who have spent the entire year working tirelessly in the fields, begins to bear fruit. It is a meaningful celebration that highlights the continuity between hard work and prosperity. With this purpose, a ceremonial event entitled “First Harvest — 2026” was held today in Akzhar village to honour agricultural workers whose labour contributes to the prosperity of the people and to mark the beginning of the 2026 harvest campaign.

District Akim Zhandos Yerkinbek addressed the gathering and extended his congratulations:

— Sowing crops is a great effort, but harvesting them efficiently and without losses is an even greater responsibility. We are facing a very important harvest campaign. During this period, all farms and responsible institutions must demonstrate strong coordination and pay particular attention to machinery readiness, occupational safety and the preservation of the harvested crops without losses.

Dear fellow countrymen!

May the harvest campaign proceed successfully, and may the granaries of every farm be filled with grain!

May the Syr Darya region, rightfully known as the land of white rice, always prosper! May our harvest be abundant and our granaries full! — the district akim said.

This year, crops have been planted across 25,231 hectares in the district, including 11,449 hectares of the main crop — rice. In addition, water-saving technologies are being applied across 600 hectares of farmland in order to use water efficiently amid water shortages.

During the event, Chairman of the District Council of Veterans Askar Merekov and Director of “Oraz Akhun LTD” Zhomart Zhalgasbek extended their warm wishes to agricultural workers and highlighted the dedicated work of farmers.

An exhibition of agricultural products was also organized. The “Ak Azheler” ensemble and district performers presented a concert programme, while elders gave their traditional blessing, or *bata*. The long-awaited “First Harvest” ceremony was then held.

May the new season begin successfully for all workers of our district, and may every grain harvested from our fields contribute abundantly to the nation’s granaries!

May our granaries be filled with grain and our дастарханы with prosperity and abundance!
