A delegation from Kyzylorda region headed by the regional akim Nurlybek Nalibayev arrived on a working visit to Italy. It included heads of agricultural formations, construction companies and entrepreneurs.
During the working trip, akim of the region Nurlybek Nalibayev met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republics of Italy, Malta and San Marino Yerbolat Sembaev. The meeting discussed issues of strengthening cooperation between the Kyzylorda region and Italy.
As is known, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to activate the attraction of domestic and foreign investment to improve the standard of living of the population.
– I want to express my sincere gratitude for the chance to talk about cooperation issues between our region and Italy, said N. Nalibayev. – Italy is one of Kazakhstan’s major partners in Europe, so our region is interested in further developing partnerships with Italian companies. We are particularly grateful for this country's expertise in agricultural production, mechanical engineering, and alternative energy sources. We are interested in using this productive experience. I am confident that our trip will be productive thanks to the support of the embassy.
Erbolat Sembayev emphasized the significance of production development in the country's economy during the meeting. He emphasized that work to strengthen ties between our countries will continue.
It is widely recognized that the reduction of oil reserves in the last decade has led to a decline in production within our area. However, since the previous year, there has been an encouraging trend in industrial output. The growth was formed due to an increase in the volume of manufacturing. If in 2011 the region was in eleventh place in terms of growth rates in this industry, then since last year the region has been among the leaders. The region's investment attractiveness is being enhanced by the implementation of large infrastructure projects that aim to create acceptable conditions for investors. 35 investment projects worth KZT 30 billion have been carried out over the past three years. An investment project worth KZT 16.6 billion was recently implemented.
The investor is building under a new investment project worth KZT 215 billion. There are two projects worth KZT 28 billion in the development of the "green" economy. These are a 50 MW wind power plant of “Uranus Wind” LLP and a 40 MW solar power plant of “Tesis” LLP, the construction of which began in October. In addition, as a result of last year's working trip to South Korea, this year the first Institute of Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan was opened at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.
Within the framework of the working trip, the head of the region met with the heads of large companies "Confindustria", "SGMGroup" and others in order to attract investment in agriculture, healthcare and construction.
