In accordance with the resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Aktobe Special Economic Zone (SEZ) was established on the basis of the Aliya Moldagulova International Airport. This zone will operate until the end of 2049.

The main goal of creating a SEZ in the Aktobe region is to attract investment, develop the manufacturing industry, and reduce import dependence. The implementation of the project will create new jobs, increase the competitiveness of domestic goods, and contribute to the development of related sectors of the economy.

The main objectives of the Aktobe SEZ are to stimulate economic growth in the region, improve the investment climate, and form new growth points for industry. 

The special economic zone covers a total area of ​​858 hectares.

It is planned to develop 9 main sectors of the transport and logistics sector and 29 directions of industry. Emphasis is placed on the creation of modern production facilities, the introduction of innovative technologies, and the attraction of leading domestic and international companies.

Local and foreign investors operating in various sectors of the economy can become participants in the SEZ. It is also planned to create clusters that will allow several companies to develop joint projects and use common resources.

And investors are provided with benefits and preferences: firstly, exemption from corporate income tax, secondly, VAT on goods sold in the SEZ is 0%, thirdly, exemption from land and property taxes, as well as payments for the use of land plots. Fourthly, exemption from customs duties for goods intended for placement or use in the SEZ; fifthly, the attraction of foreign labor without quotas and permits; Provision of the necessary engineering and communication infrastructure for the implementation of projects within the sixth SEZ and lease of land (for the duration of the SEZ's operation, with the possibility of subsequent purchase with a preemptive right). 

Currently, the construction of external and internal engineering networks of the Aktobe special economic zone (SEZ) has not yet begun. Construction work will be carried out in 2025-2026, after the allocation of 16 billion tenge from the republican budget.
