Commodity lending program: 100 heads of cattle were given to villagers in Zhambyl region

Residents of Shu district were among the first in Zhambyl region to receive a commodity loan for livestock breeding.
In his Address, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to consider the issue of introducing a new tool in the agricultural sector - "commodity loans".
The purpose of the new program is to increase livestock in rural areas. According to Tolebek Kulekeev, deputy head of the agricultural department of the Zhambyl region akimat, under the loan agreement, villagers will receive a commodity loan to further increase their livestock. Priority is given to supporting low-income families and unemployed citizens.
The commodity loan must be repaid within 5 years, the first year of which is a vacation, and then annually - 50 percent of the amount of the offspring is required to be paid.
The program provides for an insurance contract for farm animals and a guarantee, but these items are not mandatory, they are implemented only by agreement of both parties.
Local entrepreneurs have expressed their readiness to provide commodity loans (at least 30 heads of small cattle, 15 heads of cattle, 10 heads of horses).
The first agreement within the framework of the commodity lending program was concluded in the Shu district.
The owner of the "Atai" farm, Saken Ataev, gave 50 heads of sheep to a resident of the Abay village, Kalisultan Tilepbergenov (cost - 3 million tenge), and 50 heads of sheep to a villager, Bakytzhan Botaev, for 3 million tenge.
- The new program provides a good opportunity to improve the well-being of the population I believe that. I am ready to support my fellow villagers and contribute to the development of our country. In the future, I also plan to donate pedigree cattle, — said Saken Ataev.
Kalisultan Tilepbergenov will effectively use the commodity lending mechanism to support rural people.
Under the new program, explanatory work is being carried out in all districts of the region. In the Moyinkum district, the Urker farm is ready to donate 20 heads of cattle and 100 heads of sheep. Currently, a list of active villagers is being compiled.
It is planned to sign about 80 agreements within the framework of the commodity lending program by the end of the year.
