The Astana Open Fencing Championship has ended in the capital. Young athletes from all over the country took part in the traditional competition and showed their skills. About 70 athletes from Astana, Taraz and Karaganda gathered for the tournament, who determined the strongest in individual competitions, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
This year's championship was attended by teenagers born in 2011-2012, 2013 and younger. They competed in fencing and demonstrated high skill.
According to the results of the two-day competition, students of the 9th Youth Sports School showed excellent results, winning one gold, two silver and six bronze medals.
It should be noted that this championship is a qualifying stage for the Kazakhstan Championship to be held in Ust-Kamenogorsk in February. According to local experts, the capital's athletes who showed high results in this competition will have the opportunity to defend the honor of Astana at the national championship.
