Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev said at a government meeting that in 2025, repair work is planned to cover 13 thousand kilometers of roads. Of these, 9.5 thousand kilometers have been provided with the necessary funds, and the issue of financing the remaining kilometers is being worked out. Before the start of the construction season for new projects, competitive procedures will be held to identify contractors. According to the results of 2025, the regulatory condition of republican roads is 94%, and local roads - 91%.
The construction of the following projects with a length of 1.08 thousand kilometers, which were launched in previous years, continues: Kalbatau - Maikapchagay (405 km), Kurty - Kunayev (67 km), Kyzylorda - Zhezkazgan (398 km) and Uzynagash - Otar (42 km). The construction of new highways of the first technical category with a total length of 1,045 kilometers will also begin.
The Minister noted that when selecting contractors, preference will be given to domestic companies or consortiums with the participation of foreign partners, which will contribute to the further sustainable development of the Kazakhstani construction sector.
In addition, by order of the President, it is planned to reconstruct 3 thousand kilometers of roads by 2029, converting them to the first and second categories. This will give a new impetus to the development of this industry and the country's economy.
The current repair will cover 6.6 thousand kilometers. The main goal is to connect interregional and district roads to improve the well-being of the population. This year, large-scale works are planned in North Kazakhstan, Akmola and Abay regions.
